“The Museum of the American Printing House for the Blind features the contributions of those, both blind and sighted, who made the world a more accessible place. We work, every day, to erase barriers and promote tolerance and fairness.”

You may click here to learn more about APH and to view its online exhibits and galleries. Its collection includes many pictures and items that belonged to people such as Helen Keller (born June 27, 1880), a prophetic voice for all people living with disabilities.

ELDA 2022: “Walk in Faith”

As we rejoice and give thanks for the past 30 years of ministry and work of the Evangelical Lutheran Deaf Association (ELDA), we are excited to share that it will be hosting a conference called “Walk in Faith” this June in Lancaster, PA. You can check out more information about the conference on the ELDA website.

We at ELCA Disability Ministries would also like to share our thanks and gratitude for the ways in which we, the ELDA, and the Rev. Beth Lockard have and can further collaborate in the future. Blessings to you and your ministry in the name of Christ!

ELCA Disability Ministries Blog

In recent months, ELCA Disability Ministries has been working on a brand-new venture: we are starting a monthly blog! With this blog, you will get to hear stories of life and ministry from rostered ministers and lay leaders who have disabilities, as well as everyday people and families in the ELCA who experience disabled life in different ways. Finally, you will be introduced to some great disability ministry teams and task forces that are doing great things in different regions and synods.

We’re pretty stoked to see this blog take shape, and we invite you to subscribe to it and share it with your friends, family, and worshiping community.
