“I just feel so lucky to be in a position where I have such a wide array of activities. Every week looks a little bit different.”

—Ann Emilie Tjorhom, Young Adult in Global Mission in Argentina

In a new video update, Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM) volunteer Ann Emilie Tjorhom shares a snapshot of the ministries she’s been involved with in Argentina, from teaching English classes to working with an addiction program. Watch her video to learn more about her experience, then prompt a young adult you know to apply for an international service year with YAGM.

Don’t miss the deadline! YAGM applications are due Jan. 15, 2020, for priority consideration, with a final deadline of Feb. 15, 2020. If you’re a young adult aged 21 to 29, you should think about applying. Global Mission trip to Tanzania and Rwanda
On a Global Mission immersion trip to Tanzania and Rwanda, travelers witnessed the power of accompaniment in action. They met global companions, missionaries and Young Adults in Global Mission volunteers. The Lutheran Church of Rwanda celebrated its 25th-anniversary jubilee, a joyous occasion, and visitors participated in Umuganda, Rwanda’s community service day. In Tanzania, the group met Dr. Mark and Linda Jacobson, the ELCA’s longest-serving missionaries, and Dr. Steven and Bethany Friberg, who've been serving for 25 years in Ketumbeine.
