Applications for Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM) are now live! If you’re a young adult between the ages of 21 and 29, you should consider applying. This international service year will shape your faith, identity, career and understanding of how you fit into God’s work in the world. There are opportunities in ten country programs around the world, with areas of interest ranging from education to environmental justice. Through this experience, you’ll learn what it means to serve in a spirit of accompaniment as you walk alongside global church companions. Apply now at ELCA.org/YAGM.

Don’t wait! The priority deadline is Jan. 15, 2020, with applications closing on Feb. 15. Learn more at ELCA.org/YAGM. Then spread the word and encourage a young adult you know to apply! Fifth International Consultation in Latin America and the Caribbean
Representatives from Latin American and Caribbean churches and their companion synods gathered in Antigua, Guatemala, this month for the Fifth International Consultation. The theme was “Weaving Links in Mission” (or “Tejiendo Vínculos en la Misión”). Together the group delved deep into topics such as migration and gender justice, learning from one another. Meet International Women Leaders scholar Satta Sheriff
Satta Sheriff, Wittenberg University Class of 2023, is an International Women Leaders scholar from the Lutheran Church in Liberia, and Wittenberg University recently profiled her on its website. “I believe with all that I have achieved, that my journey is just beginning,” Satta said. Young Adults in Global Mission endowment fund
In 2018 the ELCA launched an endowment fund to sustain the ministry of the Young Adults in Global Mission program. We are thrilled about this new opportunity to invest in our church’s young leaders as they embark on a year of faith formation, learning and service alongside our global companions. To donate to the fund, visit the Global Mission donation page and select “ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission Endowment” from the drop-down menu.
