In Christ Jesus we meet the God who knows our weakness and bears the wounds of the world. Therefore, let us be bold as we pray, trusting that God draws near to those in any kind of need.
These words are suggested as an invitation to prayer in the Service of Word and Prayer in All Creation Sings. As we have entered the season of Lent, our second Lent in a worldwide pandemic, we continue to place our trust in God, who draws near, giving hope in times of pain and grief.
Although our Easter celebrations will be limited once again this year, we do live in hope of resurrection and new life. May our Lenten journey offer times of renewal as we remember Jesus’ Passover from death to life and our own dying and rising in Christ.
In peace, Deacon John E. Weit Executive for Worship

Worship in the Home “Worship in the Home” is available weekly on the ELCA Worship blog. You are encouraged to worship as you are able in homes on Sunday and throughout the week. If you don’t have Evangelical Lutheran Worship at home, a copy can be purchased through Augsburg Fortress’ web store, or perhaps your church might set up a lending library for home use. In addition to Sunday worship resources, resources for Daily Prayer are available, including simplified forms of Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Night Prayer as well as table prayers.
