On August 29, 2012, Hurricane Isaac hit the Gulf Coast of the United States, bringing with it multiple days of heavy rain and winds. There are federal emergency declarations in Louisiana and Mississippi, where thousands of homes have been affected by flash flooding and blowing winds. Alabama, Florida and Arkansas are also in the midst of assessing damages.

Hurricane Isaac made landfall exactly seven years after Hurricane Katrina, which affected the same region of the country. The lessons learned from that disaster response have been extremely useful in preparing for Hurricane Isaac, leading to fewer deaths, injuries and reports of damaged property, but we still need your help. Your gifts ensure that our church will be able to provide help and hope for those left homeless or otherwise affected by this disaster for years to come.

Gifts to Lutheran Disaster Response, designated for "U.S. Hurricane Relief" will be used entirely (100 percent) in response to this disaster. Join Lutheran Disaster Response and help provide the type of immediate and long-lasting support that is already underway in the affected regions.

Give today to support the needs in this response and others like it.
